Mrs. Bellow
About Me: I am originally from Los Angeles, California. However, I grew up referring to Natchitoches and, more specifically, the Cane River area simply as “home”. I was formerly a senior designer for Mattel Toys, Inc. in El Segundo, Ca. I designed and painted doll faces in the 3-D Barbie Face Design Dept. While I have enjoyed teaching elementary visual art in the Rapides Parish School Board system for the last two years, I am truly excited to be teaching art to all of my NSU-E-Lab artists here at home. This 2009-2010 school year, I am really excited about receiving the Picturing America grant. The program was created by The Nat'l Endowment for the Humanities in partnership with the American Library Assoc. in an effort to supply classrooms like ours with 40 remarkable reproductions to help young people follow the course of our nation's history. These art prints will be housed in the art room as we explore the styles of various artist and experience different techniques and mediums The prints are also available to all of our teachers to use as a resource in their classrooms across the curriculum. I look forward to another successful art year at E-Lab which again will include our holiday card fundraiser and our end-of-the-year art show at N.S.U. Hanchey Gallery. Donations of black Sharpie markers, blue art tape, paper towels, tissue and baby wipes are always appreciated. -Mrs. Bellow
